Does my student have to be from a CCSA member school?

Students from any accredited U.S. institution are welcome to participate in CCSA programs! This inclusive policy allows a diverse range of students to experience the benefits of studying abroad, regardless of their home institution.

For students from non-member schools, CCSA has a streamlined process in place to ensure they can benefit from our programs. These students will be registered for credit through CCSA's host institution, Western Kentucky University. This arrangement not only facilitates their participation in the program but also provides them with the opportunity to earn  credit that can be transferred back to their home institution upon completion of the program.

To ensure a smooth transfer process, students are encouraged to consult with their academic advisors before enrolling in a CCSA program. This will help them understand how the credits earned abroad can be applied to their degree requirements. CCSA is committed to supporting all students throughout their study abroad journey, providing the resources and guidance necessary for a successful and enriching experience.

When can my student study abroad?

CCSA offers courses during both the winter and summer terms. Winter programs run for two weeks over the winter break, starting on December 26 and typically concluding on January 8 or 9. Summer courses vary in length, lasting either two or three weeks, depending on the specific program dates.

Can my student join a course without registering for credit?

Individuals under age 26 are required to register for CCSA courses for academic credit. This allows them to not only enhance their learning experience but also to earn credits that contribute to their degree requirements. Participating for credit ensures that students can maximize their study abroad experience while staying on track academically.

For participants aged 26 or older who are not currently enrolled in any higher education institution, CCSA offers the option to audit courses. Auditing allows these individuals to experience the program and participate in the enriching activities and discussions without the pressure of completing assignments or receiving grades. While auditing students are expected to fully engage in class activities, they are not obligated to submit coursework or assessments, providing a more relaxed and flexible learning environment.

Can my student apply for more than one program at the same time?
