Every course features its own unique academic focus, blending faculty-led learning with cultural immersion. The sample itinerary below offers a glimpse into the daily rhythm of our programs, illustrating how Ireland's cities, landscapes, and communities become an extension of your classroom.

A Glimpse into the 15-Day Ireland Experience

What does life on-site look like? Since every CCSA course features its own custom, faculty-led itinerary, there is no single schedule for the entire program. Instead, the daily breakdown below serves as a general blueprint to illustrate a typical rhythm. Use this overview to explore how our programs naturally balance formal learning, faculty-guided explorations, and independent time throughout Ireland. Subject to change.

Day 1: Depart the United States

  • Overnight flight to Dublin.

Day 2: Welcome to Ireland

  • Arrive at Dublin Airport.

  • Coach transfer to accommodations.

  • Neighborhood orientation walk.

  • Faculty welcome meeting.

​

Day 3: Orientation and Discovering Dublin

  • Program orientation.

  • Guided walking tour introducing Dublin's history and culture.

  • Visit to a museum, gallery, or significant cultural site.

​

Day 4: Ireland Through an Academic Lens

  • Faculty-led site visit connected to the course theme.

  • Examples include the Book of Kells Experience, Dublin Castle, EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, the National Museum of Ireland, or other course-related locations.

  • Evening discussion or reflection activity.

Day 5: Cultural Immersion

  • Visits to literary landmarks, historic neighborhoods, museums, or cultural institutions.

  • Possible theatre performance, traditional music experience, storytelling event, or other cultural activity.

Day 6: Academic Field Experience

  • Guided tours, museum visits, archives, or presentations tailored to the course theme.

  • Examples may include Glasnevin Cemetery, the National Botanic Gardens, St. Patrick's Cathedral, the Museum of Literature Ireland, Jameson Distillery Bow St., or local arts organizations.

Day 7: Day Excursion Beyond Dublin

  • Travel to destinations such as Belfast, the Giant's Causeway, or other historic and cultural sites in Northern Ireland.

  • Explore landmarks connected to your course theme.

  • Return to Dublin in the evening.

Day 8: From Dublin to Galway

  • Travel across Ireland to Galway.

  • En route stop at a historic site such as the Hill of Tara or Athlone Castle.

  • Orientation to Galway and its vibrant city center.

​

Day 9: Ireland's Atlantic Coast

  • Full-day excursion to the Aran Islands.

  • Explore ancient forts, dramatic coastal landscapes, and traditional island life.

​

Day 10: The Burren and Cliffs of Moher

  • Day excursion featuring the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren.

  • Visits may include Caherconnell Stone Fort, a traditional sheepdog demonstration, or the coastal village of Doolin.

Day 11: Discover Galway

  • Faculty-led walking tour of Galway.

  • Course-related visits to museums, cultural sites, literary landmarks, or arts organizations.

  • Time to experience Galway's lively streets, cafés, and waterfront.

Day 12: Regional Field Experience

  • Additional faculty-led excursion connected to the course theme.

  • Destinations may include historic sites, cultural attractions, coastal communities, or natural landscapes throughout western Ireland.

Day 13: Return to Dublin

  • Travel back to Dublin.

  • Program wrap-up activities.

  • Student presentations, discussions, or evaluations.

​

Day 14: Final Reflections in Dublin

  • Final opportunity to experience Dublin independently.

  • Course wrap-up activities and final reflections.

  • Prepare for departure.

​

Day 15: Return Home

  • Coach transfer to Dublin Airport.

  • Depart Ireland for the United States.

​
